Bhagwan Shree Krishnan Lol-Sagar

Miracles do Happen Right from my young age, I have been hearing about miracles from various people, particularly in the field of Spirituality, but never witnessed any such tions miracle until I started writing this book of Bhajans. I could feel that it is no less than a miracle for an ordinary person of my cadre who has neither any hereditary background of writing poetry or Bhajans nor have any such scholarly qualification. It is clearly by the Grace of Almighty Lord with Whose Blessings "Lol-Sagar" could take the shape of a Book of Bhajans comprising 139 Bhajans and 4 songs on KP Exodus. I am very sure that these Bhajans and songs will touch your heart, mind and soul.............. The basis of writing these Bhajans and compilation of "Lol-Sagar" originally stemmed from my passion to read "Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta" regularly for almost more than four decades and applying its teachings to life. Lord Krishna has been merciful and kind upon me and has guided me to write these fascinating Bhajans which include evaluation of what can be learned about consciousness, religion and what it is to be human. This small book has proven Saraswati's Smile and Lord Krishna's blessings itself which are the "pearls of great price". Smooth and beautiful - this book is worthy of being used as a Maala (rosary) of Wisdom; which a Sadhak may utilize to navigate through the tsunamis of Sansaarik experience. Last but not the least, I am highly Grateful to each and every member of "Shehjar Parrivar - Pune" the platform, where I got the utmost encouragement for writing these Bhajans. I wish whatever credit which I may get for this compilation, the same amount of credit should go to each member of Shehjar Parrivar. My sincere prayer is that all readers of this book also receive what I have received from the Divine in terms of inner luminescence and self-realization through these heart-to-heart, intellect stimulating thoughts. (Shiben Kishen Sadhu - "Saadh")..

'Henzey Vanvun' is a uniform type of song exclusively sung by Kashmiri Pandit women in kashmiri language at the time of yajnia performed specially at the time of Sanskars (rites) like Thread ceremony 'yajniopaveet and marriage etc while sitting near the yajnia mandap. Women folk likes to sing it wether they understand its meanings or not. For general public only buzzing and humming note is heard without understanding an iota of it. Name of the book: Authored and published by Pushkar Nath Raina of Manorama Vihar, Bori Jammu.   'Henzay Vanvun' Heemal'   The author of this book titled, Henzay Wanoun Heemal' is a known figure in the literary circle even though he does not find mention in the top writers or literature of the state, yet in no way he is insignificant. Author of two books and many articles, Sh. Raina has done a commendable job in writing a book first of its kind, on a topic which is as important as any other aspect of Kashmiri pundits. 'Henzay Wanwun 'Heemal' the title of book itself suggests two different streams of thought, one representing the festivity of singing "Wanwun" and the other representing the prehistoric yet local folklore of the valley representing the salient traits of Naga culture 'Heemal' that have stirred the heart of the author especially more intensively, when he along with thousands of his compatriots are passing days in cultural and political oblivion after their exodus from the happy vale of Kashmir. 'Henzay Wanwun 'Heemal' is a collection of religious cum folk songs that are recited more or less on a litany pattern on the happy occasion of a marriage or yagneopavit  ..

Illustrated Kashmiri Proverbs

We all are aware that language is a means to communicate but when the language is mother tongue then people feel at ease. It also helps in knowing about the culture of that region and keeps the culture “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” ― Nelson Mandela Mother Tongue is the first we learn or acquire naturally. It plays an important role as a means of communication and mark of identity. It gives us a distinct identity to our shared ancestry, culture, history, and roots. Being Kashmiri, we have lost our home and the gradual loss of our mother tongue too. This loss of a language means loss of identity. As the Kashmiris are living far and wide from their homeland all over the world, the younger generation is exposed to other languages Hindi, English, and other languages.  Proverbs are part of every spoken language and reflect the economic, social, political, and religious atmosphere at that time.  These proverbs are passed to several generations and thus, there is a slight change in the wordings. We can say it is oral communication that was passed on to the generations.  So, this Illustration book of Kashmiri proverbs is a reflection of those Kashmiri proverbs which were used in our homes and somehow are now lost. A humble effort to keep the Kashmiri language alive in the form of Proverbs. It would be immensely helpful for our next generation to understand the richness of their mother tongue. About Author Meetu Koul:-  Meetu koul was born in New Delhi, brought up in Srinagar and later did her schooling in Leh after exodus. Completed a degree in Engineering and Post-Graduation in Management. Worked in Corporate India but shared love of the mother tongue made her to look at various Kashmiri proverbs and how the usage has changed over time. As proverbs tell us not only of the world before our time but our roots, culture, social, economic and religious patterns. They give us our grounding roots and a sense of continuity that is unique part of our identity. But what about the language they spoke. Question Arise: What is lost for individuals and culture when a language is no longer spoken. So, this Illustrated Kashmiri Proverb Book is an attempt to revive that. Kashmiri proverbs have changed a lot as documented in various books but in this book only a few proverbs are selected which are recent in memory. It is important to point out that both Hindus and Muslims were using these proverbs . Meetu lives in New Delhi and Working as a Management Consultant #IllustratedKashmiriProverbs #VisualWisdom #KashmiriCulture"..

Kashmiri Proverbs Volume 1

This book, written during the pandemic, is the brainchild of the author, based primarily on the Kashmiri sayings the elders used to quote and intersperse during their day-to-day conversations. Such special sayings, the proverbs, are gems of wisdom that give advice about life. Proverbs do reflect and demonstrate national events, social customs and vices, and are found in all languages and societies alike. As rightly said by a Panamanian, “Proverb is to speech what salt is to food.” Generations have passed, but those proverbs are relevant even today. These proverbs, handed over through word of mouth, might slowly dwindle and vanish from our lives as our future generations are bound to distance themselves from the use of Kashmiri language due to circumstances created by the design, compulsion or choice. This concern prompted me to document these proverbs. The compilation has 101 Kashmiri proverbs in English, Urdu and Hindi, to ensure better reach. The meaning of each word is annexed with an elaborate description, interpretation and usage with illustrative examples, wherever possible. These proverbs are hoped to invoke interesting memories in Kashmiris, in particular and a positive reception from other regions as well, by recapitulating similar proverbs in their own languages...

Kashmiri Proverbs Volume II

The proverbs included in this collection are concise statements that primarily draw wisdom from traditional sources. They express universally held truths, offer advice based on common sense and experiences, and encapsulate the values and beliefs of a society. The remarkable aspect of these proverbs lies in their timeless relevance and the careful refinement they have undergone throughout generations.   It is worth noting that these proverbs are widely used in colloquial Kashmiri language, adding a touch of distinctiveness and flavor. They can be considered as the "spicy jargon" of the Kashmiri language.   This compilation presents 151 new Kashmiri proverbs, with each proverb translated into English, Hindi, and Urdu to ensure broader accessibility and assist readers in pronouncing them correctly. The inclusion of detailed descriptions, interpretations, and usage examples, whenever possible, enhances the reader's understanding and engagement with each proverb.   Readers will find noticeable improvements in the quality of presentation, language, and ease of comprehension compared to the first volume. These proverbs aim to evoke nostalgic memories among Kashmiris, specifically, while also garnering a positive reception from other regions by drawing parallels with similar proverbs in their respective languages.   About Author Dr. Raj Kachru:-   Dr Raj Kachru, a Kashmiri Pandit, hails from the family of 18th century’s leading Kashmiri Poetess, Arnimal, known for poignant poetry, and Munshi Bhawani Dass Pandit Kachru, an erudite Persian scholar and historian at Rainawari, Srinagar, Kashmir.
